Mosquito Treatment Program
The main benefit of working with our treatment services will be allowing you and your family to enjoy the great outdoors during the summer!
These invasive pests are known to present health hazards such as west Nile Virus and various other blood transmitted pathogens. The only real reason they exist is to make our life miserable.
Our treatments target areas such as damp shady gardens, forested locations, under decks, dense vegetation and tall grasses where mosquitoes are most likely to congregate.
Our applications will be performed with a highly mobile back pack sprayer that produces a very fine mist to specifically reach these target areas. The treatments will leave a colorless, odorless residue that will continue to control the mosquito population for up to three weeks or longer depending on prevailing weather conditions.
We will be using a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide that has been proven to be safe for family and pet contact yet still highly effective in the control of mosquitos. This product has also been proven to aid in the control ticks and fleas.
All applications will be performed by highly trained individuals. The products used will be prepared and applied with strict compliance to all state and federal regulations.
J&E Nursery, Ltd. will be offering full season programs as well as special one-time applications for special events such as parties, weddings or just a friendly barbecue.
These treatments will not interfere with your busy schedule. There will be no need for you to be home for the applications. Our staff will leave a note informing you that the service has been completed. Invoicing options are available to make this program convenient.
We would advise that you work with your neighbors to aid in reducing the overall insect population in problem areas. We have group plans available to make the neighborhood as comfortable as possible.
Homeowner Checklist
- Get rid of old tires, cans, buckets or any water holding containers.
- Change water in birdbaths and pots or drip trays at least once per week.
- Keep drains, ditches and culverts clean of weeds or debris so water can drain properly.
- Keep turf and shrubbery trimmed around your home so adult mosquitos will not hide there.
- Fill in or provide drainage for low puddle areas in your lawn.
- Check and clean gutters regularly.
- After a rainfall – remember to remove any standing water from your yard to help keep mosquitoes from hatching.
- All mosquitoes need water to complete their life cycle. Managing any standing water will greatly improve your pest control efforts.
